| personality |
Fear is quiet and calm, and while they don't necessarily mind company, they're not very...expressive. You see, seeing as Fear is practically the embodiment of apathy, constantly wearing a deadpan expression and speaking in an critical monotone, it may seem like they're only hiding their emotions, but it's much more than that. Fear has a problem with their emotions in that.. well, they're not intense at all, to the point where it could be argued that they don't feel anything at all. It's like how an ice-being doesn't really feel cold temperatures; Fear has a very limited selection of emotions at their disposal. It's extremely difficult to get a rise out of them in any way, shape or form. However, there is one emotion that's completely nonexistent, and that would be their namesake; Fear. They just don't get scared. Or so it seems...

| background |
Iredin was a peculiar child. When they were born, they didn't make a sound, just stared eerily into the eyes of the doctors, and, eventually, their poor, unnerved mother. Their eyes, so black they looked empty, sent goosebumps running up and down her arms as she held them. She felt uneasy from day one. They never cried as a child, and, once they learned to walk, would always move around the house silently and at the oddest of times. Many nights, their mother would roll over in bed, only to find her child either standing at her door and looking in, or, even worse, standing over her bed and staring right at her. After a few moments, they would turn tail and quickly run out of the room. As a single mother, she was worried, but as a human, she was terrified. What if her child was possessed? Well, she thought, all I can try and do is scare it away.
Over the years, she tried numerous things to try and scare Iredin. She told them of the beautiful scenery they could see if they climbed the local bell tower, so they did. She followed them up, disguised as a ghost, but when she revealed herself, they calmly flicked her in the forehead and walked away. She sent them on a midnight errand, though a shortcut. The shortcut went though an old warehouse, where it was rumoured that a man had recently hung himself. Iredin wandered though the warehouse, and, indeed, the body was still there, swinging gently in the breeze. The child cut down the man, thinking he was still alive, lit a fire to keep him warm and went on their way. Upon their return, they noticed the man's body had burnt to ashes. They clicked their tongue, muttering something about irresponsibility and the stupidity of sleeping next to a fire, and went on their way. Finally, the woman suggested they stay three nights in a haunted manor, and her child took up the challenge without so much as blinking. The child left, and three days passed. On the morning of the fourth day, she waited. Sure enough, Iredin came home, deadpan as ever. "I met a half a man, and ghosts in the shape of cats and dogs," they said, "We had a friendly game of cards; Who would've guessed."
Their mother froze, eyeing her child like they were a demon come to steal her soul, which, for all intents and purposes, were probably her exact thoughts. Iredin walked past her and peacefully went to bed. That night, she snuck into their room, carrying a glass vase full of ice-cold water from a nearby stream. She was completely fed up with the lack of emotion from her child, and, in one final act of desperation, drenched the kid with the water. To her eternal shock and confusion, Iredin sat bold upright, screaming. It was the loudest noise she had ever heard them make. Still, she was not satisfied. "How dare you!" she cried, "How dare you lie to your own mother, you bastard! Do you hate me so much that you hide even your emotions from me?!"
She lunged, and before they could react, swung the glass vase down onto Iredin's back, where it shattered into a thousand pieces, digging into their skin as the child yelled out in pain. As blood began to drip onto their pillow, their mother stood upright, looking the very image of a madwoman. "Get out!" the woman roared, dragging her child by the arm and almost throwing them down the staircase, "Get out of my house, you demon child! Let me never have to see such a dead face again!"
Slowly, Iredin walked away from the house, and began their journey. They wanted to know if they could ever feel afraid again, as that was the only moment they had ever felt truly alive. Somewhere down the line, they changed their name to "Fear", as a reminder of the only emotion they could truly never feel. Eventually, they came across a banner advertising a magic school and, thinking that they could find a way to scare themself there, they set off on a new kind of adventure.

orientation| ??? Probably gay
magic type| Phobia Manifestation (through illusions) and and odd form of Umbrakinesis
↳ After digging into a person's subconscious, Fear can easily create and manipulate illusions of their worst phobias. This sometimes results in Fear accidentally giving themself nightmares, but let's be real, that isn't a problem. They also have the ability of talking to shadows. As odd and useless as it may seem, the shadows often reply to them and engage in conversation. They only ever really talk to their own shadow, but the ability can be used on the shadow of any being capable of human thought. They often use their shadow to make creepy faces and scare people.
body type|  Biologically male. Very moderate height, very moderate weight, if a bit skinny. The only major damage to their body is the large scar across their back that they got from the impact of the glass vase. Might have a few other little scars here and there, but nothing much.
clothing| Mostly just anything comfortable, if a bit formal. They don't really have any particular style preference.
voice| Irino Miyu | Fear's voice is high-ish but still quite masculine, and very soothing. Despite its calming qualities, they really don't like the sound of it.
sport/club|  tba.

| trivia |
- They're starting to show signs of Marie-Antoinette Syndrome; a condition where one's hair whitens extremely quickly due to stress. It seems to be some sort of slow-onset version. It might slowly change over the course of a few years.
- For unknown reasons, their body is perpetually cold. They need to practically drown themself in thick clothes to stay warm.
- The reason they used to stand in their mother's room as a child is because they couldn't sleep and wanted to lay in her bed, but didn't want to annoy her by waking her up. It was in these moments of self-debate that she would roll over and see them.
